City of Water

Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance (MWA) go regularly to great lengths to remind us that this is a city of water. Now they’ve got a new website to help make the point. From their new newsletter:
MWA’s City of Water Day will be Saturday, July 26th from 10 AM to 4 PM on Governors Island. We will be celebrating the water that both surrounds us and brings us together. For more information, check out the events page on our new website.
The Heroes of the Harbor Awards will be held this year on Monday, October 6th at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. We are honoring Chelsea Piers, Ann Buttenwieser, Dennis Suszkowski and Peggy Shepard. More information is on the events page of our new website.
The 2008 Waterfront Conference will be held on Thursday, November 13th at the National Museum of the American Indian. Check out the events page at www.waterfrontalliance.org.
